Nylon tubing is a unique kind of tubing made from polyamide resin. This material is known for its outstanding chemical, abrasion, impact, and moisture resistance and dimensional stability. Nylon tubing is used in industries ranging from food processing to auto manufacturing to robotics. Though nylon 6 is the most common commercial grade nylon, Freelin-Wade’s nylon resins allow for a lighter-weight wall, greater flexibility, and a smaller bend radius. It also offers higher corrosion resistance than other types of nylon tubing, thanks to its resistance to moisture absorption. The molecular structure of nylon makes it far more heat resistant than other types of plastic, such as polycarbonate. The melting point of nylon is 374°F (190°C), far higher than many other resins. In addition to its heat resistant properties, the material’s crystalline structure also gives it high wear and chemical resistance.
Temperature range: -60° to 200°F (-51° to 93°C)
Vacuum rating: to 28” Hg
Diameter tolerance: ± 0.005” or better (varies by size)
Hardness: 78 Rockwell R
Tube markings: FW specifications
Working pressure: 4:1 safety factor
UV stabilized
Resin compliance: meets UL94HB testing requirements
Suggested fittings: push-in, compression
High-Pressure Nylon 11 tubing is for working pressures up to 800 psi. It is also a high temperature tubing, made for temperatures up to 200°F (93°C). The material is ideal for chemical and oil processing lines, tool lubricating systems, and other applications that require high quality tubing with much higher burst ratings than typical nylon tube can provide. High-Pressure Nylon 11 tubing is made from nylon 11 resin, also known as polyamide 11, with a semi-rigid compound that provides outstanding tensile strength and chemical resistance, without sacrificing flexibility. Derived from castor beans, this unique material provides excellent abrasion, chemical, impact, moisture, and thermal resistance, as well as outstanding dimensional stability.
